Children and families

Are your children small and would you like to attend a church service on Sundays and really listen to the sermon? That's no problem at Berlin Cathedral, because we celebrate children's services on selected Sundays with girls and boys between the ages of three and twelve. Parents with children under the age of three can go to the baptism and wedding church and listen to the sermon via large loudspeakers, even if their children are not as quiet as mice.

When the whole cathedral buzzes with young voices, a band plays music and boys and girls sing at the top of their lungs, unroll posters or write their wishes on the cathedral pillars - then it's a school service in Berlin Cathedral. Every year, hundreds of boys and girls from primary and secondary schools in Berlin and Brandenburg attend the large school church services on the Day of Prayer and Repentance and on Reformation Day. School classes are welcome, as are children and young people who wish to attend our services alone or with their families.

Events with lots of music, in which stories from the Bible are told with humor and liveliness, are part of our regular offer for families. Every year on St. Martin's Day, November 11, and on Boxing Day, the boys and young men of the Berlin State and Cathedral Choir put on a sing-along for families to sing along and join in.

Discover faith together. Go on excursions. Celebrate services. Discover God. Discover one another. And all this in one of the city’s most beautiful churches, Berlin Cathedral. This is confirmation time. It is a special time during which, for a change, other things are the focus of attention. Get to know the church over a period of one year on a regular and intensive basis, and discover just how much fun it can be, and how important it is for one's own life.
