Cathedral guide

Berlin Cathedral is a tourist magnet for people from all over the world. 85 per cent of our visitors come from abroad, 10 per cent from Berlin and five per cent from other federal states. One of the main tasks of our volunteer cathedral guides is to familiarise these people with our church and its historical and religious significance today.

The group currently consists of 15 volunteers who offer guided tours in German, English, French, Italian and some Scandinavian languages.

In addition to the regular tourist tours, the cathedral guides also accompany registered groups through the building: day-care children, schoolchildren, company outings, birthday parties, armed forces units, craft groups - they all enjoy being shown around the cathedral. Some cathedral guides specialise in themed tours, such as the Hohenzollern crypt, the cathedral museum or the dome mosaics.

If you would like to get to know and understand the cathedral better, and if you enjoy passing on this enthusiasm to others, the cathedral guides are the right people for you.
